BILT 1.0 - How BILT used to be

As part of the new rollout of BILT 2.0 [January 2026] you can no longer do the following to earn points on rent:

  1. Pay your rent using BILT card
  2. Make 5 non-rent transactions per month.

The system is now more complex. Here are the 2 ways to earn points on housing.

Note: BILT 2.0 added mortgages and was not an option in BILT 1.0. Therefore, both Rent and Mortgage payments will be classified as “Housing” in the subsequent sections.

Before we begin…

FYI: You will earn a base 250 points if you pay your rent via BILT. This can only go up depending on which path you choose.

You can also change options between months, but note it will take effect the next calendar month. (i.e. Changing in January will result in the new option being enabled Feb. 1st). You cannot have both running concurrently, and seeing which one you hit first, you must lock into one.

For both examples, lets say your housing payment costs $2,000 a month.
